Posted by the Asbury Park Press on 05/13/06

The Jersey Shore Partnership, an advocacy organization for beach replenishment and Shore issues, will host its annual Summer Celebration May 22 to kick off the 2006 summer season and honor those who have supported the partnership and its goals.

The celebration, "A Taste of the Sea," will be held at 5:30 p.m. May 22 at Merri Makers at the Water's Edge, Sea Bright. The event will feature chefs from restaurants along the Jersey Shore.

The event also will honor State Secretary of Agriculture Charles M. Kuperus and the Department of Agriculture with the Outstanding Partner Award for supporting the New Jersey seafood industry.

Also to be honored will be Dr. Michael S. Bruno and Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken for the university's research and evaluation of methods of Shore protection and structures that prolong beach replenishment. He will receive the Tom Gagliano Leadership Award.

Ocean County Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari will be honored with the Elected Leadership Award for his work on Shore issues and beach replenishment.

Gef Flimlin, Marine Extension Agent with the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, and the Barnegat Bay Shellfish Restoration Project, will be honored for environmental work with the Seafood Industry Award. Cape May County Beach Plum Association and its president Stephen Carnahan will be honored with the Community Service Award for promoting the planting of indigenous beach plums on New Jersey beaches.

The partnership, a not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization based on Sandy Hook, was founded in 1991. It is an advocate of those initiatives and issues that are important to the New Jersey coastal communities with an emphasis on Shore protection and beach replenishment. Tip #19

Home Buying Tip, Online Searching:
Searching online is a very effective way to look for real estate in New Jersey, or anywhere for that matter.  Good websites allow you to search through multiple MLS’s so you can cover a wide range.  For example here you can Search for NJ Real Estate.

After you find the house you are interested in you can inquiry with the real estate agency to find out more information or to arrange an appointment to view the house.

Tip #18

Home Selling Tip, Targeting Out Of State:
When you sell your home you sometimes have to put yourself in the potential buyers’ shoes.  In New Jersey many home buyers are from the surrounding area, like New York or Pennsylvania.

Knowing this can allow your agent to market your house more effectively.   If he/she will advertise in a New York publication they can describe the proximity to NY.  This allows your potential Buyer Base to expand.
